There’s lots to do at valley gardens, we’ve put together a few things below.
The Valley Gardens, Harrogate, is a 17 acre English Heritage Grade II listed garden in regal Low Harrogate, next to the Pinewoods woodlands.
It includes beautiful historic buildings, such as the Sun Pavilion and colonnades, which sit alongside a wide variety of shrub, flower and herbaceous beds.
Children’s playground including a skate park suitable for BMX, skateboards and scooters.
There’s band concerts on Sunday afternoons from June to the end of August.
A paddling pool (this is seasonal)
Valley Garden games including, tennis, pitch and putt and crazy golf.
Toilets within the Valley Garden site.
A lovely children’s boating pool.
The parks and open spaces staff, and Harrogate in Bloom, have worked with award-winning garden designer Paul Hervey-Brookes, to design and plant areas in public places that will increase biodiversity and create improved habitats for wildlife.
The Nectar Bar planting is particularly attractive to bees and other pollinating insects, including moths.
You can also visit the Old Magnesia Well Pump Room fully restored by Friends of Valley Gardens. The Magnesia Well is now an Information and Education Centre open on the first and third Sunday of every month at 10am until 3.30pm.
The main entrance to The Valley Gardens is at the junction of Cornwall Road, Valley Drive and Royal Parade Harrogate, HG1 2SZ. The Gardens are open all year round. If your unsure of where to find the gardens pop in and see us here at FHB and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Hope to see you soon, you’ll have a lovely time visiting Valley Gardens.
